Chris Kiernan

Chris Kiernan has been hunting for the last 30 years. In 1993, Chris decided to take on the challenge of hunting exclusively with his bow. While Chris has hunted everything from Blacktail Deer on Kodiak Island to Elk in Wyoming and Turkeys in Michigan, his favorite challenge and success comes with hunting the Midwest Whitetail. The Illinois native has taken more than 30 Pope and Young Whitetails. Most of those bucks gross more than 150”, six of his top deer gross more than 170” and so far Chris has taken two giants scoring more than 200”.

Chris’ passion for bowhunting goes beyond the woods. He has found great success on the 3D range. In 2000, Chris won the IBO Outdoor World Championships in the Male Bowhunter Release Class. The sport is also a family affair as Chris’ wife, Maria, and son, Brenden, shoot 3D while Chris’ dad, Jerry, is an avid bowhunter as well.

Chris says his most memorable hunting moment came in the fall of 2009. He successfully ended his two-year quest to harvest a 37-point non-typical giant. It is truly a buck of a lifetime, but that won’t stop Chris from trying to surpass his greatest hunting accomplishment to date.
