I have carried my 38 into the woods, usually if I am heading into unfamiliar woods. I am a big chicken, and I dont want to be caught without protection if I run into a saskquatch.

But more recently I have been hunting with killemclean... and I no longer need a sidearm... because I am certain I can run faster than him.

I go out for gun season with a gun. I thought about taking the bow one year but I think dad would be disappointed in me for not taking the gun. He was the one who taught he how to hunt, track and set-up stands when I was younger.
I got turned onto bowhunting by self interest.

You might as well go out there, you never know what might come by!

Bowhuntng only since 1980's . I don't find gun hunting a challenge . I know this statement pisses a bunch of pow pow hunters off but the truth hurts . I watched a little 10 year old girl kill a 160" buck on tv with her 243 last week on outdoors channel . Great deer ! But I will leave the gun hunting up to kids getting started . My son killed his first buck with his bow 3 weeks ago . His feet didnt hit the ground for several days .
