Thread: Cranking the Limb bolts

    Default Cranking the Limb bolts

I wanted to get the most out of my 60lb Z so I tightened the limb bolts all the way down. I did notice that the last half revolution did not seem to give me a much added effect? However, I would rather have a 60 lb at top end than a 70lb bow at low end performance wise. that is my reasoning for doing this.
    • Is it bad from the limbs to be totally bottomed out?
    • Does this affect performance at all.
    Thanks

I think they should be backed off a 1/4-1/2 turns, if ya wanna tweak a few lbs on it play with twisting the harness up.( note 1/2 twist can make a big diff. sometimes)

Pretty sure Elite requires bolts to be backed out 1/4 turn as it puts too much stress on pivots or something when bottomed out, and could cause limbs to break.

Its not good. with the older limb pockets you could cause damage to the limbs. Elite said don't over tighten the limb pockets and suggest they are left 1/4 turn out. you can over tighten the limb bolt though and cause damage as well. I would Back it down 1/4 then adjust the cables if needed to gain the weight back to where it should be.
No ifs and or buts Just maybee.

I don't know about knowledge possessed but maybe just possessed is more accurate.

and Elite stands behind their limb warranty. 1/4 turn back on limb bolt, I think this gives the "pivots" and limbs some room to function together without harming one another. guessing, but from a learned perspective.
