So, now I want the GT 500 as well and decided to buy it. My family is going on vacation to a city that sells elite. My plan after talking to them was to buy the GT 500 while I was there. Win for me Win for Elite. But now I am being told like a third grader where I can buy and not buy your product. I dont think so. Might be time to chang companies again.
If you want to drive you can go to any dealer you want i'd think. Just not order from another dealer out of area to ship to you.

    Kristen is this right?

You can walk in to any shop anywhere you want and buy an Elite. If you want to do it over the phone or internet and not visit the shop in person, you can not have a local dealer and must get it authorized through Elite.

If your local dealer is a bum, then call Elite and tell them the situation and maybe you'll get a better dealer or they will make an exception for you. It does little good to jump on here and start complaing about something you've not tried to resolve yourself one on one with Elite.

I would say open up the dealerships to all pro shops and let the pro shop stand or fall on thier own merits. So , if you have dealer A selling 5 bows a year and dealer B 15miles away selling 60 bows a year there must be a good reason i.e. customer service. Therefore dealer B will be selling more product which is good for ELITE,plus you will have a proshop that is representing ELITE in a good light.I'snt that what we need.

Default You guys have it good

    Hello All

I wish we had it as good as you guys here in Australia. I live on the West coast of Australia. My nearest Elite dealer is on the east coast. About 2000mile by air (nearly 3000miles in car) away. One way thats 4 to 5hrs in a plane and days by car. The airline ticket costs near enough to the same price as you guys pay for the bow (about 2/3 anyway)

My only option is internet or mail order. This policy shafts us here big time. These bows sell in Australia for about $1150 AUD. (About $940 USD at today fx rate) It costs about $50 USD to post from the US and almost the same to post across australia. Therefore you can compare bow price with bow price.

I can not try before I buy and I pay more for the privelege.

All that being said I love my GTO and Elite have been great to deal with. Will I buy another Elite? Hopefully, but time will tell because I will not be ripped off by a distribution agreement in Australia.

    Happy shooting all.

    Cheers

    Adrian

My closest dealer is also a bum. Not interested in selling Elite at all because in his OPINION they wont sell good. I have friend in Mass,(over 4 hours away) that has a shop and ELITE allowed me to order from them. I dont agree with the protected area and I have seen how badly it can effect sales for a company. There is a Mathews dealer in the area that is protected and his dealership is a joke. EVERYTIME you go in there someone else new is there and doesnt have a clue. I have a friend that could sell 50-75 Mathews a year but he cant have them. Doesnt make alot of sense to me but whatever.

Maybe it's just me but I will never understand the "bad" dealer's out there. It may be human nature to have a preference but I still believe the customer is right and if you are a dealer you may make suggestions and give personal opinions but why degrade a product you carry or put down a potential customer?

I'm sure Elite want's the best dealers out there and they for sure want you as the customer to be pleased with a fine product.

    Default my 2 cents

I am thinking that it would be a good idea to allow Elite bows to be purchased online. I'm sure sales would increase, due to more availability. The closest dealer to me is approximately 100 miles away.
How about www.huntersfriend.com??? So many other bows are available through them and others as well.

Im sure this is already possible as Kristen stated they just need aproval?
there are lots of dealers that can help you out of there is no dealer close by.
Go to Gen. on the forum and post you have no dealer and want to buy a Elite bow, im sure you will get several pms to choos from

but these policies are no differant than lots of other mfg.

I didnt see any bad mouthing Kristin. I hope you didnt take my post that way. I understand POLICY, but just because a policy has always been that doesnt neccesarily mean it has to stay that way. At one time I believe it was Elite's policy to put the indivdual speeds on each BC, but because of discrepencies and customer dissatisfaction, that policy was changed. There is alot of desire for ELITE tobe out there but in times like these, its tough to buy an $800 bow without seeing or touching it. I would just like to see a dealer for you here in Maine that cares and pushes your product. Sorry for any misunderstanding.
