    Default Envy, and GTO

I'm just getting into bow hunting and have been reading up on it for the last couple years now and i finally came around to getting my course this past week-end ,and now moose season is no less then 3 weeks away and need to get me a new toy.
I would just like some insight on the envy and GTO ,, seem to be 2 real similar bows ,speed , a2a , weight
, and i know for sure i'll be getting either or ,, but can't seem to make up my mind
any help would be great ,,,

First, Welcome to the Elite forums!

They are both great bows but the Envys are hard to come buy and will command a premium price. You can still find new GTOs in shops and can find great deals on used ones. If you need one in a hurry, get the GTO for sure. Also look at the GT500 & Z28 if you get the chance.

why are you limiting yourself to those two?
The new cams are fantastic and worth a look.

Gt500 and the z28 are sweet and should be looked at in my opinion.

BUT, between the GTO and Envy...I'd pick the Envy.

well i've been in the market for a little while now and i've kinda narrowed it down to those 2 (envy and GTO), i looked at the spec sheets for the GTO and was impressed , but i can't seem to understand why the envy has that hefty price tag ,,, i think they were a limited release? , but does it have any special perks for that price tag , or is the GTO just as good for a little cheaper price tag, ,
i mean i havn't shot either of them ,i was hoping to have a envy i seen on ebay a couple days ago, but someone (baught it now) ,heheh ,before i got a chance ,,
i just wanted a couple opinions on the bows,,,
if the price tag was the same on these bows wich one would be pick ,, and why

I have a few of the Elite speed bows and if I was to advise which one to get it would be the GTO especially since you are just getting into bow hunting. The reason being is that the Envy is at its max efficiency at 68% let off which for you may be tougher to hold the weight at full draw. The GTO on the other hand can be set around 77-80% let off so you are holding less weight at full draw. I love both of these bows but for a beginner I would say the GTO.

    Default thanks TEXAS 10PT

other then the let-off, are they pretty much the same speed wise,,
    shock , noise?
cause i passed my hunting course this past week-end and borrowed a buddy of mines bow wich is a Darton (1998) model set at 70 lbs and it didn't take me much time to start grouping arrows at 30 yards, his let off was 65% i think , and passed my course flying colors ,, but i do understand that it's not the same as having to hold 65% let off for 1 or 2 minutes while that deer starts moving again , to get a good shot off hehehe ,,
what i liked was that , even at 65% let off , i could still creep a little bit at full draw before the cams started to really pull ,, i wounder if the envy is the same once at full draw?
So the envy only does 65% let off??

You can't creep with the Envy. I would say the Envy is faster by a tad and has a little more KE but when you have less weight to hold at full draw it is easier to be more accurate with a higher let off. I have both of these bows pretty quiet. A few of the forum members here in Texas got together last weekend to shoot and we were shooting broadheads outside. Several guys said that my release(Carter Choc Addition) was louder than my Envy at the shot. Choose what you think feels good to you but I would still recommend the GTO for you between the two you have narrowed it down to.

    Default envy let off

thanks TEXAS 10pt,,,, i will definitely keep that in mind ,, i had no idea that the envy was 65% let off only?
I read about the envy and heard that they have 2 set's of cams (mod's) available ,, easy mods and speed mods,,, what i'd like to know is if those mods (cams) are compatible with other bows , or if the GTO has the same options as far as Speed mods (cams) are concerned?

The Envy can be set up for a higher let off than 68% but you won't get all the bow has to offer in speed. The GTO only came with one set of mods. When the Envy came out it did not reach advertised speeds so new cams and mods were made to increase the speed. If you see an Envy with bronze colored mods then it has the original cams. If you see one with black mods then it has the updated cams. That's how I understand it anyway. It sounds like you already have your mind made up on an Envy. Its a great bow and if you get one, have a great time with it, its a shooter.

thanks again Texas PT ,,, i think i have my mind set up on one of them envy's ,, they are absolutely gorgeous,,,
ok so i'll look out for the color of the cams, ( black = newer cams),,,, now to find one , heheh
I appreciate the help and opinion on this ,,,, since you have both of these bows ,, does the GTO feel smoother on the draw,,
