Default rayzr vanes with fixed broadheads ?

    Hello,

Has anybody tried these rayzr feathers vanes, or similar ones, with fixed broadhead ? Any comment about it ?

    Thanks

I have!!!!...I modified a extra Bohning helix jig clamp to fletch them...They seem to steer my Slick trick Mags well out to about 50 yrds with 3 degree hard RH helical on them..The combo does seems to increase arrow drop some past 40yrs,but that is what adjustable sight pins are for..Right?..Out to 30yrds or so,it seems like my groups tightened some and they seemed quieter then the popular 2in plastic vane I was using before...I have no shot them with a straight offset yet to see how the longer range groups are with them..
In my opinion they are light, quiet, and improve my accuracy at hunting range. Enough said!

They steer broad heads incredibly well. I didn't move my pins until I got to 60 yds but that's with a 470gr arrow so maybe a lighter one would be affected sooner.

They steer my Reapers very well. I've found the spine to be more important in broad head flight than anything. Mine also is broadhead tuned and bare shafts were tuned in. I'll run my Montecs through it and see how they act. They flew wicked good out of my Pure last year with blazers but I like feathers so we're gonna see. I can already tell they are very much more forgiving even through the Biscuit.

What did you have to do with the helix clamp?

I'm gonna compare them on my 3 fitty's and see how much more they shed in the velocity department. I just wish that I enjoyed fletching arrows more.

Widen the slot a small amount with one of the wifes Emory board things for her fingernails(Popsicle stick with sand paper on it lol),I am sure you could use whatever...Just grind or file a small amount a test fit...You will have to keep a eye on the back of the feather an back of the slot when fletching to make it 100% consistent as far as fletch placement..They dont slide to the back an stop sliding like a blazer would in the clamp...

After doing all that,I found out I DIDNT need a spare clamp..Because the plastic vanes still work fine in the modified clamp.....

I also have 2 grey straight clamps for the 2in helix jig with skinny arrow holder included.I had a hard time finding them and when I did I bought 2 just in case...If you would like to buy one in the package let me know..

I can relate..I built 4 arrows out of 14 last time,so I still got 10 to cut, square, wrap an fletch sometime soon
