    Default Scent Elimination

What are you guys using for scent elimination? Just curious of your thoughts on what you use.
I currently have Dead Down Wind Spray and honestly I have no idea how well it works.
Curious to hear from those who have used buck bombs, doe esterous anything for that matter. And what kind of experience did you have with what you used? There is so much on the market and want to know who has had success with which products.

I thinks scents and scent elimination are 2 separate things. Elimination- Shower, no scent soap and deodorant, rubber boots and clothes washed and stored away from everything then spray down with something like Dead down wind. Buck bombs and estrous ect are good, but have to be used at right time . Then theirs cover scents, like fox P ect. I think 1st and mostly about scent elimination , whether its September or November or even January, then depending on time of season use some attractants to help. I'm not big on cover scents because if the deer can smell it, they can smell you. October, I love a scent called curiosity, Pre-rut and rut I use silvertop, made by a guy in Pittsburgh area named Kirschner. Don't matter what you use, if deer smells you 1st, game over.

Trying the Ozonics this year as well. I'm kinda anal when it comes to scent prevention. I think any of the scent prevention soaps and sprays work long as you do your part. Keeping your clothes and gear as scent free as possible is also important, deer can smell those things as easily as they can smell you!

This is a very important topic between me and my hunting buddies....... I may take it to the extreme, but I do not want my hunt to come up short because I got busted down wind. I take any scented items or freshners out of my truck before season, never wear cologne when I'm in my truck(it gets on the seatbelt). If I know I'm hunting Saturday, I take unscented showers on Friday and use unscented deodorant Friday as well. One place folks often miss is your towels. An unscented shower is useless if you dry off with a towel that was washed in gain and dried with a dryer sheet.... anything that will touch me or be on me on the day of the hunt is washed in unscented soap. Run a wash cycle of hit water and your choice of unscented detergent before actually washing your clothes... Spray the dryer down with unscented spray and run it for 5-10 minutes before putting your clothes in.... Again, maybe a little over the top but this is the last thing that I want to spoil my hunt!

Agreed. I also use Dead Down Wind sprays, soap, breath sprays, shampoo. I wear silver lined anti-microbial layers etc etc. I also think it is very important to cover your head with something that holds your scent. It has been said many times that 80% of human odor froms from the neck up.

I've been using a WInke suit for about 5 years. It's a scent containment suit opposed to scent eliminating. Supposed to have been a new one coming out but haven't heard. Best things I've ever bought. Also, breath elimination is one of the most important IMO. I get a dental cleaning prior to the season (seriously) and eat apples while on stand, and brush the crap out of them before going to stand.
Probably the earliest flyswatters were nothing more than some sort of striking surface attached to the end of a long stick.

I wash all my hunting clothes, hunting towels, clothes I wear on the drive to my spot etc in Sport Wash..I run a load of sport wash along, then a load of no soap, then I wash my gear. All gear is air dried. It gets stored in 1 of 2 plastic or rubber maid totes..One very large is general stuff an a smaller clear one is the one I pack what Im taking with me that time of year...

I pretty much used Unscented Arm&Hammer Antiperspirant all year..I shower with The green HS scent away liquid soap, dry with my scent free towel an throw on my scent free clothes for the ride to the spot..Sweats,shorts, T-shirt ,sock etc,I may wear my hunting undies on the drive...Once I get to the spot I change into my hunting gears..I sometimes pack in mid an outer layers to reduce my fat Xss from sweating like a pig.....As far as scent REDUCTION spray,I used one that has proven very effective on killing the bacteria that creates human body odor, while still being very cheap.....I am not concerned with trying to kill foreign odor, because I try my best to not pick any up(always have some though)..Here is what made me choose what I used spray wise..Reading the article makes choosing the effective an cheap option plain to see..

First it's pretty tires, then it's pretty guns and bows....Next thing you know, you're shavin' your beard and wearin' capri pants

Might sound strange but I use used cat litter . By me alot of srtay cats roam around the woods . I think you would call that a cover up scent . Spread it out on the ground , good to go . By my other property with the cabin I smoke my cloths . Deer are use to woodburnng smoke there . If you have cows in the area step in a cow pie before going out . What evers natural to your area . During the rut us the wife's or girlfriends dirty rag . Years ago I always kept a few frozen for special occasions .
