    Default Need help on Pure

I have a 2011 Pure that I went from #6 to #5 mod. After changing the mods I lost my valley and letoff. The DL is spot on measured by draw board. The max DW is 73lbs and the holding weight is 23 lbs. It also has no creep.....any bit of relaxation and she wants to take off. ATA and brace is spot on. I moved the draw stops out completely and that helped a tiny bit but nothing much. I compared the #5's slot to the #6's and they appear to have the same adjustability for the stops.

The only spec that appears to be off is the distance from the inside of limb to the .160 hole. It is suppose to be .540 and it reads .480. Does this effect the letoff? If so, how do I adjust that?

I am a newbie with regards to tuning. I bought a bowmaster and built a draw board to start tweaking my son and I's bows. So what gives?

    Thanks for you help.

    Matt

We had that same issue on my dads Pure going from 29in draw to 31in draw. Specs are dead on, has no valley, no creep. Not fun to shoot at all. Ive tweaked on it some but I couldnt get it to act right, well at least like the 29in mods acted in it.

Yeah...the 29 inch mods felt great. Something isn't right. I've played it through my mind over and over and can't figure it out. I may be a newbie to tuning but I can't imagine such an increase in holding weight by going from one mod to the next.

this is really common I have never switched cam or mods and everything be just right put 4 twists in each cabel the see what you have should get some more valley it will be slightly longer a little more lbs if it inproves then go back and put a few in the string see if it gets you on right track spec have a plus or minus dont get to hung up on specs.

Well, I put the #6's back on and it pulled 72 with a 12 lb holding weight, which is good. This is with the stops all the way out.

I think I figured out what is happening. I measure the #5 and #6 slots and they are the same (as far as travel is concerned) but the distance from the end of the slot to the end of the mod is different on each. The #5 is .830 inches and the #6 is .882 inches. If I am looking at it right that wouldn't allow the draw stop to be as far out on the #5's thus making more holding weight.

Thanks for the reply. On a side note with regards to twisting cables. When I twist a cable, which end do I twist from?

Disregard. I just got off the phone with Dick at Elite and he said that half way through the year they changed the specs on the mods and they were in fact cut different. Elite will be swapping out the mods free of charge.

I guess a word of advice when looking at buying used mods is to check when they were manufactured.

    Thanks
