I just put an Elite Answer in layaway and loved the bow. I actually owned an Answer earlier in the year and have came full circle...the one I had earlier in the year had a slight buzz through the riser that I couldn't get rid of. The one I just put in layaway is SWEET! It's like two TOTALLY different bows...well obviously the are two different bows, but you get the idea of what I'm saying lol.
At any rate, Elite is somewhat new to this area. I shoot the local 3D shoots and I don't recall seeing a single Elite bow on the ranges I've shot. Mathews, Hoyt, and PSE are dominate in this area. This is my first year shooting any big shoots...a lot of our 3D friends kept urging my wife and I to give the ASA shoots a try. So we shot our state qualifier and I won the qualifier in bow novice...then placed 2nd in the ASA State Championship. We had fun doing that...then decided to shoot the Classic this past weekend. I ended up 19th in it...really happy to have made the top 20 in bow novice...just out of 10th by 5 points. I saw a few Elite bows at the Classic. I was hoping they would have a booth setup there.
I have done all the shooting thus far without a bow of my own. Yes you read that right. In the local shoots, I had been sharing my wife's bow...which is 2 inches too short for me and not setup for me at all. I won the qualifier with her bow...and they let us shoot the State shoot together since we were sharing the same bow. As said, I got 2nd with it. When we came to the Classic, we couldn't shoot the same bow as we are in two different classes and were on two different ranges. I was just going to go down there with her and let her shoot...and me not do anything. But I had a friend of mine who was done with shooting for the year and let me borrow their bow...I went and got it, put a loaner sight on it, and tried to get use to a bow I had never shot before. I finished with 9 up at my first really big shoot. I can't wait to get a bow of my own!! I was just wondering if Elite had a shooting staff program. Seems like everybody at the ASA shoots had on shooter shirts and hats, etc. I would like to represent what I think has offered the best bow lineup for the whole year...and do my best to represent them on the courses in 2013.
