    Default Help with a GT500

I'm hoping y'all can help me out with my little sisters bow. She bought a used GT500, and I don't know a whole lot about Elite bows. The bow has 26" cams on it now, and she needs 27", but I have no idea which cam she needs. We also need to get her a set of 50lb limbs, but I'm not sure what deflection that is. Here are some pics of her bow/ close up of the cams. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1342460170.112845.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1342460188.396856.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1342460207.755301.jpg

Well, you aren't going to like what I have to say too much. First the easy part. To hit 50lb max, you need a 220 deflection limb. The harder part is the DL. To hit 27" you will need a #7 cam, but you will need to get a new string as well as you are going from the short draw cuda cam to the standard cam. Strings and cables are different lengths for both.

Not bad news. She wants new strings anyway! Thanks so much for responding so fast!

Ok, looked in e-gear on the website. Not sure which cam is which. There aren't any Elite dealers in our area, so I have to get them online. Is it the Rev cam?

It is the REV cam. String length will be : 58 7/16" and the cables : 39 1/2"

No problem, I will keep my eyes open for you as well. I have set up a couple of light poundage elite's recently so I know how difficult it can be to find the parts for them! Especially the limbs....

She could go to the Rev Base cam and mods too, right?

That is correct. Same cam just with a mod design. They are said to be 2-3fps slower, but probably not a deal breaker.
