    Default Broadhead 3D shoots...

I was just wondering if you guys in the States have broadhead 3D shoots? Here in South Africa we do. They are hosted by the South African Bowhunters Association.
    The score works like this:
    • arrow in the kill zone: 5 points
    • arrow anywhere else on the animal: -1 point
    • miss: 0 points
A total of 20 targets are shot. The idea is to simulate real hunting conditions, so you are put into, sometimes, awkward positions and situations. The shots do not go beyond 50yds. The point system is set up the way it is because in a hunting situation the wound will cost you a whole lot more than a clean miss.

i have never heard of one around my neck of the woods.....I think It would cost too much . I mean for the targets. I dont think they would last very long being shot with broadheads.

We used to do something similar, WE referred to it as a "Real World" shoot. The entire 10 area we scored a 10, everything else was -5. Very humbling, also you had the chance to pass, and take a 0 wheich a lot of times was better than a -5......

We have broadhead tournaments here in California but I am not sure how they are scored yet. They are advertising for the state broadhead championships so I guess it must be somewhat popular.
