    Default Backyard Shooting

Just wondering what you guys use to hold you bow while you walk down to your target to pull arrows? I am wanting to get a bow stand of some sort but would like to hear what you guys are using & hear your opinions. I'm tired of walking over to the deck laying my bow down every time I go to pull arrows.

I have a bow holder like in my tree stand mounted to a tree in backyard, also have the bow holder that clips to lower limb and just sits on ground.

I made one using plans on AT on the DIY section. I used PVC pipe and some foam. Cost about &50 bucks.

    The ground......

Used a pro pod for other bows, but the limb angle on the pure doesn't allow that so it sets on the ground while I go pull arrows.

I won't set my $1000 bows on the ground when shooting in the yard. I did like deerct101 did and made a bow/arrow stand out of PVC and pipe foam insulation. Plans are on AT like he said in the DIY section. Cost less than $30 and will last forever. Protects the cams and strings from getting dirt/debris in them and destroying my strings/cables.

Not sure how your setting these "$1,000" bows on the ground....but if you lay it on its side GENTLY your cables, strings, and cams never come in contact with the ground or grass, unless your shooting in a field or are neglecting your lawn mower! My guess is if you looked at my bow youd likely never even know its been outside.....let alone seting on all that dirt/debris!

Also what do you do for trophy pics? Where does your bow lay when your grabbing on to that big ole bucks horns? I cant imagine you carry your PVC stand to the woods every time.........

I agree a bow stand may be cheap and I may very well build myself one some time, I'm in no way bashing you for using one or building one, but acting like my bow or its strings/cables are going to be "destroyed" by a little dirt, that isnt even coming in contact with said strings, because it gets laid on the ground is rediculous!

The rare time that I have laid my bow down on the ground; the cams, limbs, and strings all made contact with the ground. Something has to touch. Maybe yours levitate.....

And when I do shoot a "big ole buck", I drag him onto the tailgate and take his pic......

I spend a lot of time and money on my equipment. MY Elites don't get laid on the ground, they deserve better.
