    Default A question for all you lefties

    I hear a lot of left-handed shooters complain about the difficulties they have finding lefty equipment. Would it be better to start a newbee lefty out shooting as a righty or would it be best to let nature have its way? I have heard of several lefty shooters who have crossed over to righty with success. If someone is brand new to archery, can a lefty start out and learn as a righty with the same expectations of success down the road?

    Have him shoot to his dominate eye. If he is left eye dominate left handed, right eye dominate right handed. I wouldn't force someone to shoot opposite for ease of getting equipment. Especially with the internet it is very easy to obtain left handed accessories. Left handed bows do take a longer to get from some manufactures others it is the same wait time.

    I agree with BB, go with eye dominance.

    I feel soooooooo stupid!! You guys are right, eye doninance is too critical to overlook. Sometimes I put my typing fingers in gear without first remembering to engage my brain. (You would think that by now I would be used to it) ;-{

    My daughter is right hand, but shoots left hand due to eye dominance.
    I shot left handed for 20 some years,due to a stronger left eye. It would over power my dominant eye. When I got glasses in my early 40's, I switched to right handed since my left eye was no longer stronger. Never had problems with switching.

    Same as above. With bow makers today you don't have to wait that long to get equipment. The Internet has opened up a lot of verity on bows.
