I dunno. I'm the newbie here, and certainly not looking to get anyone's nose out of joint. I found a good deal on eBay on a "new" 2011 Pure. I didn't realize it at the time, but I apparently got lucky to receive a bow that's covered under warranty. I don't blame me for buying it, but at the same time, I understand about dealer pricing, and the bind that eBay puts on authorized dealers.

I don't want to hurt anyone's business, but there are no Elite dealers close enough for me to hurt here. At the same time, I wasn't hurting anyone's prospective business, because I wouldn't have been able to afford a new Pure at dealer pricing right now. (Hence, I wouldn't have been buying a new bow from them anyway) If I hadn't bought an eBay bow, I'd have a bought a used bow here or on the AT classifieds.

The simple fact of the matter is, eBay is here to stay. There will always be a guy here and there who lucks on to some surplus stock from a former dealer, or for whatever reason, can manage to sell bows below dealer pricing. I don't know what Elite dealers pay for their bows, but I'm almost sure Elite tells them what they can sell for.

Dont sweat it 628... By the way, $628? Anyhow, for all we know...and im just taking a stab here...im guessing you actually bought the bow from one of Pete's alter accounts on ebay. Its not the first time this has happened...he'll prob logon at some point and (while lol) post that Elite is looking into this matter and the dealer responsible will be dealt with in no specific terms(but imply harshly).

I am a Elite dealer and i would like to know were you buy a Elite bow wholesale at the price of $280? You are ways off on wholesale price by alot.If the profits were that high on a Elite that would be awesome for us dealers but we dont make alot of money on Elites. Now when your talking Hoyt,Mathews, bowtech,Pse that is were the money is to be made on bows.Just saying.I also carry a price point line of bows wont mention brand and i make more money on that line then i do Elite.

Nope, it was less than that actually. I really don't think this guy was a dealer. Just some 'Joe' who found a deal on a few bows. Probably bought a storage locker...lol!

Regardless of price, the bow is very nice! Got to shoot it outside a bit tonight and, WOW...this thing is quiet! I'm not sure if the little bit of noise is the QAD rest dropping, or the string hitting the stop, but that's it. Just a small thump. And that's from behind the bow. I'm not sure you could hear it from more than a few yards away. Holds nice, shoots nice. A lot to be liked about the Pure! Instant fan here!

Waiting somewhat patiently on one of Matt's (bearfoot) anti-torque cable rods, and I need to get a better stabilizer than the cheap little S-Coil I threw on it to shoot tonight.

You will like Matts rod it does wonders for the bows.AS far as a stabbilizer try a stokerized if you have the chance you may like it.The thunk you are hearing probally is coming from the string stop play with it a little if nothing works put some monkey tails on the string it will improve the noise longer ata bows seem to have a little string noise good luck and glad to hear you like the bow also glad everything worked out for you with warranty.

I totally pulled that number out of my lavazhole, so disregard... However, I find the rest of your post very VERY interesting. (Sorry for the hijack 628)

This thread has opened up a whole new can of worms... What the heck is Elites deal?!! Why are all the better manufacturers hooking up their dealers with better wholesale prices??? The answer to that question could explain a cluster of reasons most dealers dont carry Elite or steer customers towards another brand!

omg, what have we stumbled on to....

Look this is going a little to far on who makes what on a bow.If you are saleing more of a product because you make more money on it verses Quailty for a little less profit so be it.I would rather sale a product that is Quailty verses one with more profit that means the Quailty product will be less of a headache for the dealer. One last thing there is no real big profit on bows unless you are saleing alot of them 100 plus any name brand of bow.I shouldnt have even responded to this post for it seems like it is getting a little out of hand so this will be it for me.

I have owned a bunch of Elites and the PURE I own now is far and away the best looking, best shooting I have had, its flawless.
I'm not going to lose much sleep wondering who put it together, just saying.

628 good luck on your Pure, I've owned 2 of them and kept my Max 1 camo. It shoots great and is very smooth. I've taken some great bucks with it also. You will be very happy, believe me. Rick

Yep the Pure is one fantastic shooting bow. Its not super fast but fast enough for hunting. When I got mine in November 2010 I had three animals withing two weeks of getting it. Now can't wait to put my Answer to work this year!!!!
