Not a fan of Kisser button, too heavy and in my opinion unnecessary. Shoot without it for a couple weeks and see if you lose any accuracy (bet you won't) I used one on my first bow because it came with one but later found it unnecessary. The small X shaped silencers are good and light. Speed nocks increase speed and lessen vibration so no deduction for those. Stay away from the whisker type string silencers that are in a ball, bad speed killers due to wt and mass. If you put limb dampeners on, a dampener on your string stop and cable slide and stab, you might well not need ones on string. The others do not slow down the bow.

I use way heavy arrows for 70lbs so no help there.

Ok, Ive been considering getting rid of the kiss button. Im pretty routine in my shooting now anyway that I should be able to maintain accuracy without the kiss button. I know there are a lot of string silencers out there, You mentioned the X type, Im not sure what they are. I may have seen them, just cant picture them. Curious to know what light weight ones people are using. But youre right, I may not need them. My bow is really silent. I never noticed how silent it was until my buddy was shooting my bow. I wanted to hear it from the point of another shooter shooting it. Its more quiet than I thought. Hard to tell when I fire it myself. I mean it was quiet, but when its right next to you its a little louder than when you stand a few feet away and have someone else shoot it.
Also I just found out my neighbors buddy has a chrono machine. So we're gonna borrow it and mess around with it. It will be good to see how much a difference all this stuff makes.

I only lost 1fps when I added Cat whiskers but they definitely work.

For string silencers nothing even compares to cat whiskers, all of my balled up cat whiskers have always weighed less than any store bought string silencer. The key is not to use a whole strip, but only a half a strip per ball and fold them multiple times...once you get the hang of it you can make them look sweet. If you check out Youtube there is a great video on how to do them, theres also a guy on AT who sells custom colors and combos if you wanna match your string or bow. Also I never noted more than a fps or 2 loss when puting them on, which is less than I found with most any store bought string silencer!

I do agree with bfoot though, I always try to dampen as much vibe/noise elsewhere on the bow and only add silencers to the string as a last resort....of the last 3 bows I've owned, 2 of which have been Elites, not a one needed any type of string silencers.....bowjax on string stop, cable slide, and stabilizer as well as limbsavers on the limbs are usually all thats needed!

Also you said you wanted a arrow that will end up around 300gr and still spine out....27" (C2C) Gold Tip Ultralight, Acculite Nock, 3 lightweight vanes or feathers ( Bohning X vanes 1.5" weigh 3 grains each) and a 85gr. glue in target point will put you at 302.1gr before glue for fletchings and target poing, also they should spine just fine!

I was talking out of school on the cat whiskers as I have never put them on a bow and always taken them off any bow I bought, just seems logical that the wind resistance would slow it more. If you have tried it and chrono'ed it your opinion is likely to be more accurate and informed.

Ok thanks. I have the limbsavers on the limb and bowjax on the cable slide, but need one on the string stop if it ends up being warranted. I will see how it shoots and sounds with no peep and monkey tails. But youre probably right in that I wont need them for silencing.
