Default DLS vs. modular rev cams

My brother just got a z with 2010 modular rev cams. He's wanting to get some extra speed. I suggested that he put dls cams on it to achieve that. Any thoughts? Thanks for your input.

Some will argue this but I feel its all in the tune .. With the DLS rev cams Im getting an average of 3 fps more and also have found my gt500s are quieter with the DLS rev cams .. The DLS cams are a better design so far as being simple but are a bit more of a pain if resale is your priority .. Other then the resale aspect DLS rev cams are superior to the moded cams . This is my opinion based on my 3 gt500s I own .

Some will say the increase in speed is 3-5 fps and some will say its as much as 7-12 fps. I agree with cmillett79 that a lot of this has to do with tune. I cannot recall anyone installing the DLS in place of the mod's and not getting some increase in speed. I personally think they draw smoother and are a little quieter. I have DLS cams on my Z28 and I prefer them over the mods

I would double check to make sure of the cams that he has. A 2010 should have modded Z cams not modded Rev cams. Be sure to pick up DLS Z cams if you don't want to change the harness....but if you did pick up some Rev cams and a string set for it you would definitely pick up some speed!

Revs will only work on a 2008.5 not a 2009 or 2010. Limb angles are different as well as deflections. Stick with the Z cams.

If the gain in speed is only 3fps you will not see any noticeable difference whatsoever. I have a set of DLS cams on an E-500 and they feel much better than the K8's that came on the bow. 2010 models with the mods are a little louder. I don't hear a difference in the 2011 or 2012 models that have the mods.
