Probably 10 yrs ago or so when I killed my biggest bow buck to date and my first for the books. He snuck in on me while sitting down and I remember looking at him through the grate on my treestand for what felt like an eternity. He was basically sniffing the pegs on my tree and I had one chance but I would have to stand up with him directly under me. I went for it and got stood up, now it was on. He basically stepped into the only clear shot I had, a quartering away shot at 15 yds. This was my defining "archery moment" second only to the most adrenalin I have ever felt in the field-my sons first buck.

Two years ago for me. Shot my first deer with a bow and watched her fall. I was and have been hooked ever since. Seems like the only time I am happy is between September 15 and December 31. Lol.

For me it was watching my 10 year old draw on a 5pt. buck at 5 yards. Was just focusing and praying for the arrow to appear where I was staring a hole in it....and then it just appeared there. Made me proud b/c the week before he had missed two other deer and I had grounded him from the woods that week. Made him practice every day until he could prove to me that he could put the arrow where he wanted too. I have never had a prouder moment that standing over that deer...Except maybe this past year when my youngest did the same thing....

It wasn't the mature doe I got opening day of my first year bowhunting. It wasn't the P&Y I got a couple of weeks later, still my first year.
My second year bowhunting, my wife was in the stand bear hunting. She got to watch me stalk a 125-130 inch. Better yet, I was at full draw, pin settled on his chest, I let down. I had a beatiful buck on the wall, and I wanted to leave it for her or my sons. She didn't get that one, but she got the top one in my avatar pic, yes the same year!

Killing a buck large enough to be entered in p&y, I however did not pay for that, a 129" PA monarch that I hunted for 2+ years with hundreds of trail cam pics and shed antlers from years past.....word cannot define how excited I was walking up on him after the shot! I was nearly in tears and was so dang excited, it was a culmination of alot of hard work and best part was it was my first semester back to college and had been working my tail off both in my studies and in the field!

I still get a big grin and taken back to that day everytime I see him on the wall!
