Had a lot of fun with the shoot last year. Not sure I can even see 40 yards. The eyes are getting older and the hold is shakier. Mid August starts the archery hunt here in Utah till mid September. Could be a bit of a conflict for me. I'll keep my eye on this and see how things shake out when the time comes.

I'm looking forward to this. I can shoot 40 easily in my backyard. Scoring well at that distance is another story...

Alright I am going to take a test run at this 40yard 3 spot tonight. As I recall last year the avg score at the end was 287 or so. I don't recall what mine was and I can't see the results anymore (red x in the picture). What do you think would be a new avg score for this addtional distance? I will post up tonight upon finishing to let you all know how I did. Please don't laugh at me when you see it!

All righty then. Let me set this up. My name is Eric. I shoot a 2011 Pure 27.5" @ 63#'s. CBE sight with a viper pin. no lens.(this means I cant see any of the rings at 40 yards). AAE DOA rest. Xcutter arrows. Tru Ball short and sweet. Pretty sure I was at or a little below last years avg of 287. Maybe Smeags can confirm if it matters? Today is 100 degrees and a 18mph diagaonal wind. Very first arrow was a zero. I shot two ends or 6 arrows at a time cause it is hot and to be honest I am not worried about crashing them at that distance. Ended up shooting a 209 with zero X's. this is good cause I didn't want to waste any good shots on a practice round. Time for a beer to quench my thirst.

Thanks for running a baseline score for us. I have absolutely no clue what to expect!

I wonder, would it be okay to shoot my scores ahead of time? As long as I document them properly, does the timing matter? I already know that I'll have time conflicts with hunting... elk season starts on Aug 25th... but I've been looking forward to this all year!

Doesn't matter to me either. Going to have to pick up some targets and get a baseline this weekend....I have never shot paper before

I dont think anyone would care if you guys shoot your scores ahead of time. If we get a freak break from the heat I may go ahead and log in a couple rounds too.

If this is deemed acceptable, it'll be FAR easier for me to play along this year.

I'll be sure not to post my scores ahead of time... I don't want to be the last person picked for a team, LOL!

Eltaco are you saying I should have not posted up my test score as now I will be picked last?
