I haven't shot a squirrel in probably 12 years. When I was younger I'd shoot a pile of them and we'd make squirrel pot pie. Not too bad, but it surely isn't my favorite meal.
Nothing as good as Raccoon though .

I was watching one of those restaurant shows a while back and they had Nutria on the menu and was talking about how good they were. We caught a few little ones for pets when we were kids and shot truck loads of them but never ate one.

Never had blackbird, but muskrat is better than squirrel. Might have something to do with the tanic acid in acorns. Squirrel stew & pie is good though. Try to have it at deer camp every year.Squirrel's almost as good as blackbird , but not as good as a Muskrat .
