    Question Yall eat Squirrel?

Im thinking about killing some squirrels for the purpose of eating cus lately ive seen some shows on TV with folks saying its delicious. But I kinda fall into the high-end yuppie redneck bracket, so I dont want to lower my standards by eating treerats...that is, unless they are just that tastey.

So without worrying about your social status or being judged a lowlife, please share your experiences and opinion concerning the consuption of squirrel meat by humans. Thx

Id love to try Squirrel. Never have...I was watching Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern and he went to West Virginia and they were cooking Squirrel and some fancy smancy restaurant and it looked delicious.... Would love to get some recipes and try it out. My bow is just itching to shoot something....LOL

I'm completely all Redneck... and was raised that if I'm gonna shoot something, then shoot to kill and only kill if you intend on not waisting it, so either its for fur or food. Once you clean em, throw em in a pot to boil, then the meat comes right off the bones, then roll little pieces of the meat in what ever batter you like, then fry them. Or use the boiled meat for pot pie...

Nothing better than squirrel gravy. Grandma always said you gotta have six squirrels to make a mess.

My dad loves them as does my brother and his family. I wish they were as easy to clean as rabbits. I prefer rabbit to tree rat but a lot people I know in IL eat both.
