    Default kevin, crackers or mike

this got lost in a thread highjack, can we get an answer for this? Thanks

This is very interesting. So are we to assume that the speeds increase dramatically w/ the lower let-off??
    I sure don't mind 80% L.O. or even 75% L.O. if it will pick up another 5- 10 fps.

What happens to the valley at lesser letoff's??

Will lowering letoff shorten DL? I'm guessing only very little.

2xR , or Kevin or Cracker's , can you wiegh in??

I am certainly not trying to speak for Kevin, nor am I an engineer, but I will share with you what Michael told me... They are designed to be approx. 80% LO and Michael, anyway, did not see 5-10 fps by lowering the LO. So he has tuned it to the bow he has with the limbs/deflection he has, and the "factory strings", to reach the best performance combination of designed specs (DL, BH, etc), speed, shock, vibration etc. The LO was slightly less than 85% on that bow. Remember no two limbs and no two limb sets are identical. Crackers is still working on his final spec for all the above and his string/cable lengths...

Kevin has posted and been quoted several times that you should be tuning "for cam timing, DL, DW and BH", the other spec's are derived from this process... I don't think Kevin has ever identified LO as a tunning point and I know Michael doesn't tune to a desired LO.

Hopefully one of the three authorities can weigh in on this and add further clarification... PLEASE

I do not tune to ata or BH but to DL-poundage and a degree of LO. Your higher LO is faster on Binary cams because the only way to decrease let off is to shortern the draw stroke so it can't be faster.

That sounds interesting. More speed with a higher let off. Cool I guess, If you like higher let off.

So what would be the advantage, if any , to tuning the bow to 60 some % L.O. ???

For me - just to do it. I have a torn rotator cuff so I don't like low let off and not many of my customers do either.
