This fish was caught yesterday on Smoothrock Lake. I have been flying into this lake for 23 years. Some of the best fishing in Ontario.

It was caught on Smoothrock Lake. It is not me in the picture. I myself have caught several 46" fish at this lake, and even had 2 or 3 on that would rival this one. In a week of fishing in the spring, the first 2 weeks of the season, it is not unusual for 4 guys to catch 20+ fish over 40" plus all the walleyes you want with a bonus lake trout here and there. A few years back, my brother-in-law caught a 60", 60lb lake sturgeon!

Congrats, sounds like a nice Spring get-away. Fishing like that they must have to send two planes when it's time to pick you up.
It's mostly catch and release for the northerns, you can only keep them 27 1/2" and under. The walleye's have to be under 18", even though many are in the 22-25" range. Last year they had 10 walleye's over 30"! It is not uncommon to catch 150 - 200 walleye's a day per person! Just a fantastic lake!
