Correct me if I am wrong, the machining is different on the thumb side of the grip on the left handed riser (first bow in the picture). Is this the problem area?
Either that or this happens a lot!
While I am happy for the OP that Elite is replacing his riser. Don't you all think this bow passed through a bunch of peoples hands, and not a single one of them flagged it........really sad IMHO. Someone will come back with growing pains yada yada...BS the machinist knew the bit broke, and I can almost guarantee you the finish, and assembly people had to see the problem, but they ship and sell the bow to the dealer anyway?? It then ends up in the consumers hand and he has to pay to have the bow shipped back and fixed. Glad the OP is a lot more understanding then myself, but if I am dropping $700+ on a bow I can guarantee you if it was like that I wouldn't be paying to have it fixed. The best customer service is one you NEVER have to use!
Which of the two risers has the problem- first or second one in the picture? My riser looks exactly like the second riser in the picture- 2011 Pure.
Looking at the pics I doubt if the bit broke. The finish looks good on both. I'd be more apt to think the program was changed the way the grips look (more than just left/right being mirror images). The left grip looks smoother and more rounded at the top to relieve the possibilities that were being complained about. The right grip looks machined correct, with the cutout for the sideplates and all but just doesn't look as it's ergonomically designed as well. If it's a matter of design change in the program I'd say customer service is treating you very well.

I guess that is entirely possible, I know my LH one was one of the first produced in the country(NOVEMBER) and mirrored the OPs LH one. So I assumed a bit broke and the machinist tried to fix it before being coated.
