Korbin has been in on a few of these emails and maybe once summer is at full bore the reports will start coming in, I know I won't have anything to report since it hardly breaks 80 degrees where I live in the summer.

I mean it's snowing right now here where I live and it's almost the middle of May.
I'll be able to run the 8190 through it's paces in high heat. 110 degree temps in summer isn't uncommon in SE Texas.

It is thinner in diameter, so if 24 strands of 452x w/ .014 halo is tight in the cam track(excessive wear) you could make them with 8190 and reduce the overall diameter of the string. Also it is a few fps faster than 452x, but there really isn't a huge gain with the material. 452x is a great material that has stood the test of time, 8190 is the new kid on the block only time will tell if it lives up to the "hype".

I can tell you it is stable I just stretched 24 strands of it at 335lbs for 12 hours and it didn't budge.(done after initial stretch)(garage temp went from 78 to 56 during the duration) Also with the diameter being thinner it produces a rounder bundle and I am able to get the tag ends super tight.JMO

I don't see any kind of negative with the 8190 from what I've read. I'm sure not savy when it comes to strings. If they don't stretch and fray , that's good enough for me.
String material is just like anything else. Better technology breeds better products , plain and simle.
Is this material the next step in innovation? Maybe/probably.
    It's time to move on.

If I was back home in Tucson, AZ it would be easy to do the testing as well since we had well over 100 days of 100+ degree weather like where you live, it's about that on average back home but nowhere near that where I am now but you wouldn't expect those temps at almost 9000 ft above sea level.

Yea....you better get worried if that happens up there!

Arizona is hotter than it is here, it's just the humidity that makes it so hot here. I can handle 110 DRY all day it's the 100 degree heat with 90% humidity that will kick your butt.

Either way it's hot and the material will get to see plenty of that action this year!

Me either only been building my own for like 8 weeks.lol Of course since Ben was kind enough to write out his entire process for me, I learned a ton in short order.(Thanks Ben!!) Just like he stated I will develop my own process which I have done. String building is almost as fascinating as arrow building it kicked my OCD into overdrive. I will try to post some pics, I have 24 strands of 8190 for the string, and 24 strands of 452x for the cables on my bow right now. As for the vivid color thing people talk about I surely can't see it using sunset orange. The benefits I see are like I stated prior rounder, smoother bundle, smaller diameter, and a bit faster. The first two could easily be attributed to me being a "ROOKIE" and my burnish technique works better on 8190.lol

Getting some 8190 put on my Answer once the bow gets fixed. Haven't heard a bad thing about it.

I put a set on my Pure and so far I really like the 8190. Gained a little speed and seems to be very stable.
