ok guys just got a sure lock sight the exstention bar goes out to 9 in what are the advantages to it being so far out or should i move it in closer thnks for any help.

the farther out the bigger the gap between pins also lets you move in and out to fit the sight housing to your peep size. just remember to put it back in the same hole each time or it wont hit where your aiming. lol, dont ask how I know

I agree, I have always been told that the extension bar allows you to precisely match the peep to the sight ring.
