    Default Rage vs Grim Reaper

I have a set of Rage two blade bh's that I bought at the end of last year. After seeing how easy they deploy themselves, I was curious has anyone had any misses due to them opening up in flight. You have to be careful stalking with them. The slightest bump can cause the blade to slip over the o-ring and slide out. Anyone compared them to Grim Reaper bh's yet. I haven't shot ther G.R.'s yet but am curious as to how they perform.

    And the verdict is .......

I tried the 3 blade Rage last deer season. They are a nice head and leave an excellent entrance and exit hole. The things I didn't like is that the blades will come open if bumped and they are a one time use head (I had to take them apart and change blades and O-rings after shooting an animal. I have a friend that is using the 2 blade Rage and he has had a problem with the blades coming open but they say to just turn the O-ring a little. They certainly leave a big hole..
The Grim Reapers I have been shooting since shortly after they came out and will be sticking with them. Excellent entrance and exit holes and I have several that I have used to take multiple animals with and only had to sharpen the blades. If you practice with them alot you will need to change the spring that is in them, but changing it and the blades is very simple to do...

    Good Luck!

You should try atoms. They fly exactly like field tips, and penetrate well. On top of that you do not need to worry about sharp edges.

I haven't heard very good things about the atoms.

I have used Rage and I couldn't be happier with them. The only thing I always did after knocking the arrow is to make sure the blades are secure. I will say however that with the rage price now forty bucks I am trying the grim reapers this coming season.

I know that 40 forty bucks for what actually does the killing isn't a big deal but its the principle, plus I know some people that only use grim reapers and they have nothing bad to say about them, so as long as my aim is true it won't matter.

Probably a good idea to try for yourself rather than go by what you have heard. The atoms are a great broadhead.

For open on impact heads the Grim Reapers are at the top of the list for durability and performance. The Rage are simply not a tough head and in most cases are a one time use head that costs 14.00 each. Grim Reapers are very durable and can be used multiple times. They also do not have the penetration issues Rage have. I used the Reapers for three years and can not say anything bad about them. I just decided to go back to fixed four blade heads. It gives you the same cutting area and no worries about deployment or deflection. Just my experience.

The Rage are very popular in this area and so are the Grim Reapers. I have buddies that have used both and liked them both, but at the end of the day the use the GR's. Tough blades and no O rings are the biggest points they like. The Atoms are nice as well if you want a fixed blade as well as the Shuttle T locks. Me personally I'm trying the Silver Flames this year (I had them for last year but knee surgery made me miss deer season).

I've seen all the videos on both, the thing I like about the Rage 2 blade heads is that the entry hole is huge. Just in case you don't get that pass thru shot you can be sure of a good blood trail.
