    Default Speed buttons

    I am setting up a new GT500. I have a new string with nothing on it so fasr except the D-Loop. I want to add speed buttons. Are they place 4" from the cam? Also what type of buttons do you use? Rick

    I think the last one is about 4" from the cam on mine and they are the rubber ones.

    Per the Elite tune charts, the first one is 4" from the axle for model years 2008-2010. The number of speed buttons on each end for 2008-2009 is 5 but 2010 is only 2. Wonder why they made the change.

    I just did my 2010 GT500 using a chronograph and checking various positions, best place I found was placing 2 crimp on nocks at each end 4" to the center of the two nocks from the center of the axel. My speed gain was 5 fps over having a bare string.

    i did the same on my answer and gained 6

    Just interjecting to answer the question about why they changed...

    Before 2010 they used 5 individual eliminator buttons, but then they started using their own buttons which are like a '3 in 1' grub, so they essentially went from 5 to 6. Probably 6 so they could just use 2 of the 'grubs' rather than have to have a grub with 3 and one with only 2...
    Don't reverse the RAT!!

    I have gt 500 that I just picked up, what size nocks did you use?
    Sorry for the dumb question.
