My Opinion of the Answer Speed Mods

Thanks for the review. I knew I was spoiled by only shooting the smooth mods on the Answer and from shooting my Z28 which is the only other bow I've shot more than just a few arrows through for over a year. It's nice to hear from someone who knows how other bows feel in comparison.

I just got my Answer 70# in this week. Still waiting on the CBE Tek Hunter XL w/Single Pin scope. Got to shoot it a little with the speed mods on and all I can say is WOW. Smooth, fast and quiet. The draw weight increased by a pound and a half. Haven't ran it through the chrono yet. My buddy shot it as well. He couldn't put it down. Needless to say, his Bowtech Invasion CPX is now on ebay and the Answer is on order. I've always told him that someday he'd switch to Elite.........that day was last Thursday!!!!!

Thank you! I was trying to be subtle in my review but I do understand why newer Elite converts probably wouldn't like the feel of the Answer speed mods. The last few years of bow models have had that buttery smooth draw and long valley and have no other experience with Elite speed mods from the 06-07 lines to compare them to. The Answer speed mods are so much better feeling than the early days that (to me) there is really no comparison because these feel so much better. I think Mike did an excellent job in the design of these mods.

Been down in the cave shooting them some more and the speeds are growing on me. Not that I LOVE them but I think I can LIVE with the extra 12fps. for 3D season. The smooths will go back on to hunt with tho.

Great looking rig you got Jeff! Still trying to decide on speed mods for mine. Don't have a shop that can tune one around here so I would have to send mine to Rick or someone to make it right.

I may break down here and order a shorter draw length so I can get some sooner...

Forgot to mention and compare. In 2005 when I was shooting a Mathews Switchback I had it set at 72lbs and was shooting a 458gr FMJ at 253fps. Yesterday I was shooting my Answer with the speed mods 73lbs and my hunting arrow which is also a FMJ weighs 577gr and I was getting 253fps and the difference is 119gr heavier. If I was still shooting that 458gr arrow, I'd be at 293fps
