I just ordered a CBE scope and Tek Target sight.

Will the new pin be able to fit the exsisting scope?

OR do I need a different scope?

I guess there are two ways to do it. I got my instructions from the Elite guys and drilled out the threads and attached the scope to the windage bar from inside the scope. I had to cut down an allen wrench to tighten the screw so that I would be out of the way of the pin while tightening.

Alright, now I have the info I was wanting. I agree Jeff, I didn't care for the way the fibers come around on the cbe housing.

Is it possible to order a CBE sight minus the scope? I've been looking at the Tek Hunter XL. What about using a multi pin setup say out to 40 or 50 yards then have the bottom pin adjustable out to say 100?

I just ordered a bunch of Tek Hunter XL's and plan on adding a Viper scope to most of them. You can order it without any head but for the price you might as well get the XL 5 pin head and then add a single pin scope. I think the difference is somewhere around $30.

Every dealer I asked said they couldn't order the Tek Hunter without a head. I called CBE direct and they said they don't like selling them that way but they would for $150 and Boarman on AT is selling the full Tek Hunter with single or Multiple pin heads for $169. I agree with you...you are better to buy the whole setup and sell the scope if you don't like it.

The Viper scope has more fiber wrapped around it and you dont need a light set-up to see your pin in most light sitituations. You can use a wide rubberband around the fiber to cover or expose the fiber to control the brightness of the pin. The lens is in front of the pin. The CBE scope needs a light for the pin fiber in most indoor sitituations. The lens is behind the pin.

Not 100% correct. Yes the fiber at the post is better protected with the Viper. But you can use whatever length fiber you want with either. The fiber on the CBE comes out the bottom of the housing just like it does with the Viper or any other scope on the market. There is a tube that comes with the pin that the fiber goes in and is held to the scope body.

I have been shooting the CBE housing for two years and have never needed a light. Not for hunting, indoors, or field. That's with the fiber that comes with the scope or after market fiber. In fact outside at times it can be too bright and I have had to go to shorter lengths.

It's painted Jeff, I saw a pic of Standsitter's and his was painted and commented that I liked it and he offered to paint mine so I sent it his way. Very nice of him to offer and he did a great job!
