    Default 2012 answer

I have approx. 400 shots thru my Answer - and I already see some very noticeable wear marks on my string when not drawn the marks are at the same place top and bottom - right where they meet the bottom of the top cam and at the top of the bottom cam - make sense?

Mine is the same as I'm sure most are. The edge points will show wear. Keep an eye on the servings for seperation. If that happens call CS and I'm sure they'll take care of you.

so you understand where I am talking about?- its right where it meets the cam and same with the bottom....i have never seen any wear on any bow in those 2 places- almost like I have to much cam lean and its NOT hitting straight on to the cams

Yes I know what you mean.
If you think it may be from cam lean/limb twist...put it on a draw board and check.

Thanks.....I did go to the shop and now it looks like there is a bit of fraying near the bottom cam and wear at the top cam....I am concerned now that I see the fraying....

Had the same issue on mine. Ate the factory strings nearly through the serving. Starting to eat my custom strings but not as bad after shimming the cams over toward the cable side. Cam lean was so bad that I swapped the limbs out with limbs off my Z28 and that seemed to solve it. Called CS and Dick got me a new set of limbs shipped out.

I thought that cam lean was supposed to be very minimal if any at all on the Answer. Is this becoming more common, or are these isolated occurances?

It would be nice if someone from Elite could address this before a number of people put new strings and cables on their new bow, only to have them destroyed also...

Really, had to shim toward the cable side. Usually have to shim toward the string side I thought. Is the guide rod pushing the cables way out adding to the lean?
