this will be the first time ive bought a bow without shooting first no elite dealers close(not that they would still have these).this bow will be used just for hunting.what are yalls thoughts on the two.ive got an 04 patriot now which i love just wanting something new.the warranty on elite has sold me on the elite.and ive talked to people that said now dealing with bowtec is a major pain if you have an issue.thanks

I consider the GT500 to be the best "all around" bow ever made. so if you want a bow that is great for target shooting, 3d and hunting i'd go with the gt. If you are exclusively hunting than the z28 has better hunting specs, but honestly i think the GT500 is as good or better for hunting as my z28.

    Owned and shot both.
The Z28 is one of the top hunting bows ever produced by any company.
The GT500 is one of the top 3D/Hunting/Do-all bows ever produced by any company.

That being said I would go with the Z28-more BH and a little shorter ATA for blinds and stand hunting.
If you plan on ever shooting some foam for fun I would go with the GT500- longer ATA and faster than the Z.

    Both are awesome-good luck!

You can't go wrong with either!! The Z is sweet, smooth, quiet & a 400gr arrow at 70lb is all you need. On the other HAND the GT500 is & has been said by many, many people the best all around bow ever I have one & will never sell it The draw is stiff but very smooth no hump & I'm a 30''dl. I hunt from a climber 90%, then blind, stalk, 3-D & spot the GT it a killer no matter what you do. Deer, turkey, rabbit, squirrles & other 4 footed animals have meet there fate by my GT.

Elite is so good ATA & BH is nothing they all shoot

I have a GT500 and love it. One of the best bows I have owned and shot. I also have a Hunter which is similar to the Z and like that. But the Pulse well nuff said.

Can't go wrong with either but I here the on here that the Z is an awesome hunting rig.

I have shot both and like the GT500 a little better. The GT500 is on my short wait list. The Z is an awesome machine and seems to be more readily available.

    Welcome to EAF,

The GT500 was my first Elite bow and loved it. Found a great deal on a Z28 and could not believe how smooth and forgiving this bow is. Still have both and they are not going anywhere for a long time.

Like BucksnBass525 stated "The Z28 is one of the top hunting bows ever produced by any company. Thee GT500 is one of the top 3D/Hunting/Do-all bows ever produced by any company."

These are classic and you can buy them for cheap.

Choose wisely or you may end up with both. Good Luck.
