    Question Hunter string stop

    G'day Everyone,

I was sighting in my new Hunter the other day and felt a vibration on the shot. The string stop turned out to be the culprit and had worked loose. I know this has probably been asked many times, but what has everyone found to be the optimum string stop placement? Is it against the string or just off it? Any direction would be most appreciated.

    Cheers

Leave a very slight gap, maybe 1/32. Use blue loctite on the set screws and they won't come loose.

    Thumbs up

    Thanks mate.

Will definitely get some loctite. I cursed the other day, my old bottle had dried up.

That sounds right a credit card thickness some people cut piece of bowjax and place it inside the stop to make up the distance for extra silence

Replace the set screws in the stop with 10/24x3/16 and you will be able to get them tighter with out stripping the heads out the replcement set screw are deeper and it will solve all your problems.
