    Default 70# limbs on a 07 ICE

Has anyone here every tried to come up with 70lbs limbs on a 07 Elite Ice? What I am thinking about trying is 104 deflection limbs, since I cannot seem to find any new new bows in a short draw lengths that can compete with the Ice. Looks like from the charts that it would work, what years did Elite change the limb pockets and or limb design?

Destro, the reason you will not find a 70lb limb deflection listed for the ICE is because the ICE (and the FIRE) was not designed for those loads. Not sure if it was the cams or the riser that were designed to be a lighter bow, therefore not having the strength for 70lbs.

I understand that the ICE/Fire were never equipped with 70lbs limbs, but I cannot imagine that 10lbs more deflection would be unworkable since a lot of these came from Elite at 62#. what I was thinking was 105 limbs from a 2009 GT500. Do you really think it would bend/twist/blowup?

It might not bend, twist..But the blow up part i wont ignore. the riser might break in the middle. It wasnt designed for 70lbs. But its your bow..another thought just hit me and thats the little barrels holding the limb bolts in the riser. If that area isnt strong enough you could be in a pickle.
No ifs and or buts Just maybee.

Bows are a lot like race cars. There is a very fine line between safe and explosion.
I for one would not push past the manufactures designed safety limits...
