Default First one of the season hits the dirt...

Well ya'll I finally got it done yesterday afternoon. Yesterday was about as horrible as they get as far as deer hunting goes temps shot into the high 70's and windy, but you can't kill them from the couch. I dropped my brother off then got setup in a stand we had just put up yesterday. Four of us walking around all over for about two hour's yesterday so lets just say my hopes were not high for this hunt. I got setup at about 3:20 this afternoon and at about 4:00 I hear one coming up a slough about 60 yard's from me that connects two water holes. I saw the deer come up and I caught a slight glimpse of antler on his head, but he was headed in the wrong direction. I turned and hit grunt call twice and herd him stop so I hit it one more time real soft then watched. I saw his leg's and front half turn straight to me and here he comes I wasn't being picky after the bow season ive had so I got ready. He was coming straight to me...when he got to 20 yard's I drew the ole' Judge and tried to stop him in an opening at about 15 yard's. Well he kept walking a few steps and stopped right behind a big tree at 10 yard's. I was at full draw for about a minute until he decided to continue on...so when he poped out he was at 7 yard's and walking when I took the shot. I watched him run about 30-35 yard's and stop for a minute then he gave me the ole' gargling sound and went behind a big downed oak where I thought I herd him crash. Went and got my brother and about 45 mins later picked up the 50 yard blood trail that ended right behind that oak to my 7 pointer.

This is the first decent buck ive ever shot and I got him with my bow! The shot was a little high, but at 7 yard's I figured it might be. Went in high and came out nice on the other side. The 2.25" Swhacker left some nice blood to follow and a chest full of it also!

Yes sir those HT-2's are awesome arrow's! My brother, my dad, and myself are all using them this year. We have taken five deer and a pig with them so far this season and no problem's at all.
