    Just depends on what your comfy with . Most 300 spines arrows will be over 400grns ( recommended for 80lb DW ) once they are fletched and suited out . Im a pretty stout man and I rdered an 08.5 80lb z28 yrs ago , loved it but my arrow selection sucked . With that I couldnt shoot those arrpws with any of my other bows or voce versa . So I ended up putting 70lb limbs on it and lost 17fps in the same weight arrow if I remeber right . Im happier with the 70lb limbs since its more economical on my pocket and arrow selection .

    Default 70 0r 80lb

    yeah i plan on shooting the easton fmj 300 arrows with 125gr tip. i talked to elite and they said i would only gain 5fps with the 80lb bow, that didnt sound right to me. if i was only gonna gain 5fps i might as well go with the 70lb.

    I believe it's 5fps with a 50 grain heavier arrow to boot

    You will gain 5fps " IBO " not 5fps in the same grain arrow , just so you know what they meant in case you didnt .

    Lets use "340fps" IBO for example
    IBO = 30" DL @ 70lbs

    a 60lb DW @ 30" DL would = about 335-336 IBO
    a 70lb DW @ 30" DL = "340" IBO
    a 80lb DW @ 30" DL = 345 IBO or close to it

    Whe you talked to Elite Im sure they wheer refering to IBO gainnot how mush faster a 10lb neavier DW would push teh same grain arrow vs a 70lb DW bow in same specs .. You would prbly gain about 15-20fps depending on the bow model using the same grain arrow using a 80lb over a 70lber

    Give me your DL and arrows weights you would use I I will gove you a 70lb vs 80lb calculation in speed . The calculation will be near real world results .

    Default dl and arrow weight

    dl is 28. my arrows are about 29". i believe that total arrow weight is about 500g. 300 easton fmj with 125 broadhead. i did the calculations on backcountry bowhunter and it gave me about a 20fps difference. not sure if your using same website. also you wouldnt happen to know letoff difference between smooth mods and speed mods would you. thanks

    I have no idea what the letoff would be between the two mods and yep 20fps sounds realistic .

    I used to have an 80lb Synergy. Gained a little in the speed department, like what was said, new arrows, for me anyways. The hard part was finding a target capable of stopping the arrows. New block at 60 yards, went right thru. A good bag will stop it, but really hard on them. My 70 lb Pulse is only a few fps behind what my syn was at 82, same arrow. I'll take the 70lb draw anyday!
