    here is my turkey point for the recurve I am in the process of finishing
    this is real deer sinew, and is still drying then I will put pine pitch on it to waterproof the haft
    it weighs 289 grains (LITTLE heavier then the others) about 1-1/2 wide it should do well out of my recurve this spring

    this was sent to me by friend who I made one for late season Illinois

    32' up in tree
    18 yd shot
    159# doe
    went 40ish and fell over
    shot thru shoulderblade and out where ribs meet sternum

    that point was 1" wide and made a nice hole shaving hair and goin in....

    How did the head survive a shot like that with a modern bow? Just wondering if that is a one time deal or can they be touched up sometimes? Thanks for the pics...really enjoy checking out your work.

    yes they can be touched up
    ....one time deal = depends on that shot
    if it blows thru and smashes a rock proly will chip
