    Default Limb bolts

Hey everyone, i'm trying to check the specs on my GT500 and i tightened down the limb bolts. I didn't want to go too far in fear of stripping the bolt. It feels pretty tight but i can still see some threads and about an 1/8" gap. Will it tighten down till there is no gap or is this about it? Just want to get my measurements right.

Did you loosen the side screws first?

Btw, I didn't mean to sound like a smart arse.
I just checked mine and there is no gap at all.

The limb pockets will sit flush with the end of the riser when the limb bolt is fully tightened down. By the looks of the photo, you still have a ways to go.

Ok guys, thanks. I hope there is no risk of stripping them.

By the way, i always wanted to ask how far they can safely be taken out? I'm guessing there is no stop so going too far might give you quite the suprise?

I think Elite says 2 turns max. To me, that doesn't seem like much. I have no idea how long the limb bolts are. When it comes time for me to change my strings, I plan on changing my limbs while I'm at it. It will be interesting to find out.

We recommend only backing out the limb bolts 2 full turns. This will reduce draw weight by 8-9 lbs depending on model. There is plenty of thread engagement beyond 2 turns so you don't have to worry about the bow just coming apart.

If you take the bow down, put some white lithium grease on those bolts and they will turn much easier for you. My Pulse has one bolt that makes aweful creaky sounds when I turn it, and the other is smooth. As soon as I take the bow down, I'll grease them both up completely.
