Default Help with axles and cam changes

When pulling cams, or shimming, you have to pull the axle out or at least partially out. When you replace everything, you have to get it lined up so that the axle will go back through all the holes.

I know that is obvious. My problem has been that with the bow in the press, sometimes its difficult to get the small shim and the limb axle holes all to line up to push the axle all the way back through. What do you guys use to re align the holes to get it to slip in easily?

    Thanks for the help.

i use one of my T-handle allen wrenches from the open side as i push on the axle.

axle on far side pushed through the limb enough to put the one shim on, the place the cam in the area and get the axle through it and even with it's opposite side. this should leave just enough room for a snug fit for the last shim. now looking from the limb side through the hole i can see how the shim needs to be adjusted and use the allen wrench to line it up and push the axle on through.

X2 - works every time. I have used drill bits, small screwdrivers, allen wrenches, anything that will let you move the last shim around per Wassaw while applying pressure on the axle from the opposite side.
