    Default Helping a friend

I have a friend that I just started shooting with and I can tell how much he practices be how big the blood blister is on his arm. He shoots a 20+ year old onieda set at 32" and 70 lbs. He is talking about getting a new bow and he said he saw a new bow on tv that he wants..... a Z7. I'm making small strides in converting him but how do I get him to come down to his correct drawlenght?

Point to the blood blister on his arm and tell him that with the correct draw length, he could be shooting pain free.

It may also help to take him to a pro shop and have them set him up with some bows to shoot.

He says he shoot good enough and doesn't want to give up any speed. I told him a newer 50 lb bow will shoot faster than a 20 year old 70 lb onieda. He also wants to go with a used bow so I kinda don't wanna go to a dealer just to use him for a test drive.

If that's the case, point out that even the 60lbs bows are over 300fps this year.
Let him pull one back, between the smoother draw and the mire efficient cams, he should see the pain free light.

and point out that a used Z7 won't have a warranty and the manufacturer couldn't care less about him or his purchase, and we all know of a company that is JUST a little different than that! Lol!

Some of them old Oneidas are very smooth shooters. My Dads from 97 was rated around 308, I think, so not a slouch either really. Get him to a shop to draw a 70 lb z7, and than a Elite. Let the bow sell itself! He doesn't have to buy new, he just needs to feel them both. Does he think he needs extenze to because they have commercials on tv? lmao If he buys a Z7, go get him a flippin pack of shamwows to go with it! LMAO, hey, doesn't kotex advertise too? I bet he could use a box! roflmao

Nice. I feel like Mathews brain washes people with thier advertising. I love my switchback xt but I bought it before I was informed about archery. Thinking back I might have choosen a different bow. I still love the way it draws but the wall is as solid as a zip lock bag. I don't if mathews is still the sam but the draw length was way long on the 3 differnet ones I put on a draw board. I really like a company that tells the truth.

Mathews has the best propaganda in the business. As far as draw length point out the bruise and show him you do not have one and why you do not have one.
Maybe send him some articles of the web about fit before he buys a new bow. Tell him it is so he knows the correct info before he goes in to the shop.

    EAT, SLEEP, BOW HUNT!!!!!
