    Default Question

Is it possible to put z or rev cams on my pse octane? Its specs are similar to the 09 gt500 I want to try these cams out and since I cant afford a elite I figured I could franken my pse give it more speed and get a feel for the cams.

I have never done that but i would check the depth of the limb/cam cut outs to make sure they will rotate around with out hitting, then i would get a shim/spacer kit for the cams. plus you will need to build a harness. i would think it would work though.
Bettle72 on this forum would be a good person to PM and ask about. it might take him a few days to reply, i think he works two weeks on and one week off.

I make strings so that part wont be a problem whatever i would end up having to make. The cut outs in the limbs are pretty deep they have the NRG dual cams on now and its just not the speed im looking for. I was hopinig to lose the harness and have a true binary i wasnt sure if that was possible simply by getting a second bottom axle for the top and a shim kit. I think i will just order the cams and try it and if it doesnt work ill just resell them its worth a try.

That sounds like a fun project. I believe however that you may loose poundage on the cam swap. you may end up with a great feeling bow but may have a slower setup.

You should be able to do that, The only thing I can add is that the Z cams will give you a much better draw as far as feel and holding wt. The revs can be tricky to get set up right when using them on a PSE. If you get a Rev with mods it will make it much easier. What poundage is the PSE now and what is the ATA and BH on it as it sits. Though you may not have the same problems getting the dl set up right as I doubt you are trying to get a 33 1/2" dl. You may be able to get the Revs where you want them.

Pse octane single cam 34" ata 7 1/4" bh I will need a 28.5" or 29" draw I thought if I went with revs that have mods my draw would be a little easier to adjust than just swapping cams but I may just go with the z cams but I have no clue what size cam I would need as I said before the gt500 and my octane share similar ata and brace so cam size in theory should be same correct???? Oh and its 60 pounds currently I thought I might gain weight going from a single to dual cam

If you keep your ATA the same you may loose some +/- 1/4" in your BH. Your limbs may drop poundage only slightly if you keep the 34" ATA. You may get lucky. The Revs will work well in that application. String length should be 57 9/16" and cables would be 38 5/8". If you go with the Z cams you would be looking at strings at 58" and cables at 38 5/8". On the Revs start with 3 speed buttons 3 3/4" from the axles on the string. Should get you real close.

The ATA is so close I would say you would need the same cam that you have on the GT.
