Default Did I make a good move? Just bought an 09 XLR to replace my Bear Attack...

Elite newbie here...Just bought a great priced 09 black 60# XLR on ebay. 27.5" DL with Cuda cams. I'm actually a 27" DL person so I'll see how this will feel with the longer DL. How do I go about switching DL if and when I need to? Do I have to replace the cam and can I do this myself with a portable bow press?

I bought the XLR to replace my 60# Bear Attack. It's a great, fast, quiet bow, but I'm more interested in accuracy since I do not hunt. I'm new to the sport but my main interest is in field and 3D archery.

Did I make a good move? It should arrive here in a few days.

And what can I expect in my shooting experience making this jump from a short axle hunting bow to a longer target bow?

I currently have the CBE single pin TEK Hunter XL target sight and a 12" B-stinger. Should I keep the B-stinger or switch to a longer front and side stab? I just shoot for fun so no limits on shooting classes and restrictions. I don't want to go crazy with a 36"+ stab...any moderate length ones that still produce good stable holds?

Thanks again for any help and I'm excited to be an Elite owner.

You made a very good move IMO. I have a 08.5 XLR and it is an awsome shooting bow. I use a 12" B-Stinger on mine with 14 oz's of weight and it seems to work very well. I use this bow for 3D and a little target, but really, it is a bow that can do it all. Not the fastest bow, but accuracy and forgiveness are as good as any bow out there!

For what you are using a bow for..Yes you made a good choice..The Bear attack is a killer bow!!!!But since your not hunting I can see its short comings for you
First it's pretty tires, then it's pretty guns and bows....Next thing you know, you're shavin' your beard and wearin' capri pants

I have pretty much the same bow as you, but in a 27" DL. If you keep the 09 cams they are draw specific. The last time I ordered cams, the older ones were $50. I know if you upgrade to 2010 cams they are modular, but I'm not sure about the cudas. I absolutely love my XLR, and that sparked my other three Elite purchases last year. If you ever hunt with it be careful in a pop up (long ATA bumps the top of the blind).

Thanks guys! It sounds like I made a good decision to switch over to the XLR.

What kind of real world speeds do you think I'll get out of a 60# 27.5" XLR shooting arrows at 5 to 5.5gpi? I know it's not a speed bow but just curious on estimates. I know Elite has their specs online for different DL but seeing what you guys are actually hitting.
