If you look up your bow, it will have a limb deflection chart that shows what deflection limbs will give you what poundage.

On the main webpage, if you go to the Technology tab, click on Owner's Manual, you'll get this:

    http://www.elitearchery.com/technolo...ers_Manual.pdf

It shows the limb deflection chart for each bow.
You can do the same for any year of production of Elite bows.

I hope this answers your question.

I don't know where/how the limb deflection is measured.

I'm not really worried about it. My limbs give me the weight I want, and if I want to change it, I can just order the new limbs off of the chart for the poundage I want.

If you order from a dealer, I'm sure you could get away with telling them the weight you desire, but if you order off of the webpage, you will need to know the deflection for the weight desired.

Different bows require different deflections for the same weight.

If you are looking for 60lbs limbs for a Hunter you will require 123 limbs, and 105 for 70lbs. Those 105 deflection limbs would be 80lbs on a Pure and the 123 would around 63/64lbs.

It all has to do with the angle of the riser and pockets.
