    Default Busting nocks

Alright, I'll be the first to admit, I don't break near as many nocks as most of y'all... okay, I've only broken one, ever.

Makes me wonder, do some arrows break easier than others due to the nock shape or field tips used, or am I just an inferior archer?! Seriously, I slap arrows more than I would like, and I've ruined more than my fair share of fletchings, but I just can't seem to break my GoldTip XT Hunters.

I'm willing to admit that it's just me, but seeing how many of y'all break nocks regularly makes me wonder if it's just my setup. The one nock that I did break happened right after I switched to a different field tip. Almost instantly. Right afterwards, I switched back to my regular field tips and haven't injured a shaft since.

Hold on while I grab my flame-suit.

I think its just being lucky or unlucky for guys like me & you. Alot of these guys are pretty good & can probably do it at every practice session. I have a box of robinhoods. In my case I knew it was luck. I also have 2 whole in ones & I don't golf much. Now I don't get excited , just a little Pd off at myself , because I pushed the line on luck & arrows get wrecked just from being unlucky. I do shoot Gold Tip & Victory arrows & the Victory break the nocks if I shoot within a 1/2 inch. Only shoot 1 arrow at a deer.

Well, if you're crushing them from a direct hit there's no way that they aren't going to break but if you're slapping them from arrows striking next to each other they may or may not break. I shoot at multiple spots so the only time I break one anymore is if I get possessed into shooting two at the same spot for some stupid reason. Undoubtedly I'll think to myself "You shouldn't be doing this!". But I do it anyway and sure enough; BAM!

Koiakhunter , I know exactly what your talking about shooting more than 1 arrow at the same spot and having that feeling , I should'nt be doing this before the shot . Everytime I do, it cost me an arrow or a nock , or bent pin nock insert . But every now and then I like to see two arrows together and pay the price .

    ROFL... noted.

I just picked up some Beman MFX Bone Collectors. I'll test my theory that it's the nocks fault, not mine... I'll get back to y'all when I start breaking 'em, but don't hold your breath.

Arrows are made to take an impact from end to end not side to side. I'm not a Pro but, I can say this; DON'T SHOOT GROUPS. I only use high end arrows, my 3-D GT22Pros I ues pin nocks & in the last 3yrs only had one bust & that was a side impact. With end hits the nock just breaks & arrow deflects to the side. On my hunting arrows I use bohning & GT nocks, with standard nocks & shooting groups I kill arrows so no groups with my hunting arrows.

Yes you want to break arrow just keep shooting at the same spot. sooner or later one of them is going to hit the same spot.
Most of mine are from an accident. Shooting long distance and not worrying about tight groups.
No ifs and or buts Just maybee.
