    Default GT500 Limbs??

    Hey out there,
Im new to the forum and pretty new to owning a elite bow
I have recently bought a GT500 and am loving it though i have one concern
it is a 70 lb bow but i have almost maxed out the limbs and im only reaching 65#
is this just a very tight limbolt or is there a legit problem?
and if so have any of you ran into this problem? Should i just send it in or what would you recommend?

Take the limbs off and check the numbers stamped in them, if they are really 70lb limbs they should say 105 on them or something really close to that

    Default Thank you

    Thanks for the help!
Unfortunately i dont have a access to a press for a couple of days so i dont want to finally have the limbs out and find they are 105's and be totally clueless
If they arent 105 what else could be the problem?

chances are the string and cables are not in spec, take them off and measure and twist according to get them to spec.
if you need string and cable lengths everthing is listed on Elites website under technology.

hows DL? string and cables are not in spec it sounds like twisting up cables and un twisting string will build pounds. spec strings first, before you try anything. take it to your local shop strings should be measured at 100 lbs of pressure. any questions P.M, me Ive owned 5 and still have 2

Before you get too far ahead of yourself, are you positive that the limbs are maxed out right now? I've had bows with limb bolts not greased quite enough, and they were tougher to turn than others. If you're looking at the front of your bow, see if there is any gap at all between the riser and limb pockets. If they're maxed, you shouldn't see any gap at all.

If that's not the case, are you positive that your scale is on the money? 5lbs is quite a bit off, I'd be surprised if the strings and cables are that far outta whack... but I've been wrong a time or two before.

I totally agree with this my limb bolts are a pain and I have greased them they are very tight to turn. Also check your ATA and BH, especially your ATA if it is on the long side then your cables need some twists to bring things back to spec. The ATA should be 34 7/8". Check that very first thing.

    Default ATA good

so i checked a few measurements and everything seems good
i noticed though on the spec charts im shooting relatively low speed
its rated with a #3 mod to be 320-325 with a 350 grain arrow and my arrows are around that mark (i forget actually arrow grain weight)
right now i am shoot 293 at 65#

compared to the ibo it suggests... could that have something to do with it?
im really thinking its the cables more and more each day, cables and string are to spec as welll

btw thank you guys for the warm welcome to the forum loving it on here and thank you for the help im a relative noob to archery so it helps to have support from a good community

Those speeds are at 70lbs. If you crank yours up to 70lb and i'm assuming you have a peep, loop, etc. on the string you should be close to that IBO number with out all the string accesories. Check your timing as well if you haven't already.
