    Default Which model?

I need help choosing- How many times has this been posted? ha- But really; I want to use one bow for, in order of importance:
    1. Elk hunting
    2. Shooting for enjoyment in the yard. 50 shots a night, most summer nights
    3. 3-D
    4. 20 yd indoor league in winter

So with that info, which would be the best model to order? I have a short draw, 27 1/2" and want to shoot a 60# bow.

I think that from looking at the spec page, I would lean toward the XXL as the most all around bow, but would like to hear from actual users.
Thanks in advance for your input.

That's a tough one. I have both a GTO and XL. They are both very accurate shooting bows. I believe I like the XL better but that's just me. Since you are considering Elk hunting and want a 60lb bow then I think I would recommend the GTO. That way you could hunt with a heavier arrow and still maintain some speed. You really can't go wrong with either bow though. Its a tough decision and good luck with your final pick.

I agree with 10pt the GTO would be a great all around bow. I would say the xxl would be more forgiving for drilling x's. But I shot the GTO as good as any other bow indoors.

I bought the GTO as a hunting bow, and was going to keep using my Hoyt ultra elite as my 3D and spot bow. After shooting this bow, its going to do all three jobs untill i can get a XXL. Point being, this doesn't shoot like a speed bow, and with your priority being elk hunting, i think you can't go wrong getting the GTO.

Both Texas10Pt and MaybeeR have given you very good advice on the GTO. The bow shoots great IMO also. Elite also has the XT that I shoot for hunting. I am waiting on an XL that I will use for 3d. While waiting on my XL I have shot my XT in our indoor spot tourny and now I am shooting the XT at local 3d shoots. With my hunting setup, 28.5"dl 70lb 415gn 340 epic 287fps, I have been able to win every tourny in the bowhunter class except one spot tourny. I shot a 299 with 54 x's and came in second. The XT is a very solid performer for me and worth looking at also.

My first bow is a GTO & when I asked the forum which bow would be best for a beginner they told me the GTO would probably not serve me well, because it is a speed bow. Mind you, this was in the very beginning & the GTO was still not in production. This bow is very accurate, smooth, & easy to draw. I am very happy with how it performs. It will be your best choice for all 3 events!

    Default Elite Fire

I WOULD RECOMMEND THE ELITE FIRE. I HAVE SHOT BOTH THE FIRE AND THE GTO. I LOVED THEM BOTH. I HAVE ALWAYS SHOT A 70lbs BOW AND AFTER PULLING THESE TWO BOWS BACK DECIDED TO SWITCH TO A 60LBS MAINLY BECAUSE BOTH BOWS CAN REACH SPEEDS OF OVER 300FPS AT 60lbs WITH IBO ARROWS. I HAVE A 28 INCH DRAW AND AT 60LBS THE FIRE IS PEAKED OUT ON ITS PERFORMANCE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THE FIRE OVER THE GTO STRICKLY ON THE DRAW CYCLE AND SMOOTHLESS OF DRAW AT 60LBS OVER THE GTO. THE GTO WILL GIVE YOU 5-6 FPS OVER THE FIRE, BUT THE FIRE DRAW IS UNPARRELLED IN SMOOTHNESS AND HAS LESS CAM LEAN THAN THE GTO BECAUSE THE CAM IS SLIGHTLY SMALLER.

    I second the fire choice.

Great draw and an awesome shooter. It should meet all your needs very well.

If I could only have one it would be the GTO.

I have both a GTO and an XXL and I think that if I was going to go with a 60 lb bow for hunting it would be the GTO. I think that you would be more satisfied with the speed on the GTO at 60 lbs versus the XXL. The GTO seems to be very shootable and would probably make a good all around bow. However, at you draw length I would also look at the Fire. They are really smooth.
