I have put them up just for short times, over a couple of days and night. I won't leave them out for a long time span. I gamble a little bit but not a heavy spender.

I put one up before season started, didnt have any problem with it. Not many people walking around that area before season starts. I wouldnt leave one of any real value on public any time. I have a couple OLD ones that i use on public
Middle of summer put one out for two days to try and pattern some pigs went back to find nothing but my chain and lock on the tree. Worst part is they had to break the camera to get it out from behind the chain.
Ive got a new one now and lesson learned put it deep in the woods where no one else goes.
Im guessing someone was back there doing somthing they shouldnt have been doing and were caught on cam. All they had to do was slide the bottom open and take the SD card and I never would have known anything.

Not me. To many thieves out there to chance it.

I sure wouldnt!
Even on private land I worry about my cameras coming up missing.
Its to bad a person cant trust people.
Neighbor had one on the river down below our house last week and got a pic of a mountain lion on it. Set some deer meat out for bait to try to get some more pics and found the camera destroyed the next day. He had it locked to a tree but they took a stick to it busting it open and stole the memory card.He brought it up to the house and we tried to get the pictures off the internal memory but the camera was history.I have a pretty good idea who it was.We will probably be baiting them next.
