Best hunting bow choice

Here's my dilemma. Looking to replace my destroyer 340 with either a pulse or hunter (pure to long for me). I realize both bows will have typical elite valley wall and smooth draw, however the differences are what's getting me . I want the speed if the pulse especially at 60lbs, however its a 6 in brace and while I'm not as worried about clothing contact I am worried about accuracy issues. The hunter has a great brace for accuracy but it is a shorter bow so does the length offset some of the brace since the pulse is longer? I hunt turkey some but mainly treestand hunt deer and limit my shots to under 45 yards. In illinois you can sweat hunting and freeze so weather varies. I did get spoiled getting into speed bows so I can pull 60-62 and still flirt with 300fps with my 350 grain arrow. The hunter has great specs but down on speed, pulse has speed and little more length but puts a premium on the shooter with lower brace. What's everyones thoughts?

Just for hunting... go with the Hunter, you will be very happy.

I mostly hunt and shoot a bit of foam now and then and I have the Pulse on order. You say you limit your shots under 40yds, I'll bet you would shoot the Pulse as well as any 7" BH you've had at that distance. The Hunter would have been a great choice also but the PULSE felt the best of all the Elites to me this year.

Maybe I'm looking at brace more than I should be. I will admit that I can do low 60 lbs on the pulse and get plenty of performance, however I would have to bump to 70 lbs on the hunter to be in the same neighborhood as the pulse. Even though people swear the hunter is extra smooth (60lber I shot was stupid easy to draw) I just am not sure about the stiffness of draw that 70 lb will bring. Both bows are good, I just don't know which one is best for me, and no I can't do both lol. Anyone else have thoughts?

Your D340 already has everything you wanted in a hunting bow. If you want comparable speed, Pulse is the one. I will assure you that the D340 and Pulse are two very different bows in your hand.

You will know which bow you like but you have to own it to know. I love fast bows but my favorite is my slowest bow.

The Pulse would be a great choice for you.
But then again, the Hunter is an AMAZING bow.

I would say buy both. Start with the Pulse, and pick up the Hunter at some point down the road.

You are right, the d340 pretty much does what I'm asking for, I guess I'm looking to fine tune it with an elite if possible. D340 draw is good but little stiff with a little hump at end, the back wall is better than my prior x force but not as good as the new elites. I guess elite had to make up some speed with the lower brace on the pulse, however you gain a nice smooth easy draw cycle. How much different is the pulse in your hand than the d340? Would a pulse at 60-62 lbs feel the same as a hunter at 70lb or would the hunter still feel stiffer due to the extra lbs?

The PULSE to me was the easiest drawing of all the new Elites which I did not expect, and seemed to have the best valley too. The 63 lb Pulse or Hunter will definitely draw smoother than the Destroyer.

Interesting, I would have thought the hunter would be the smoothest draw with the round cams/wheels. The dealer I'm working with doesn't have as pulse yet, I'm wanting to shoot one of those and a hunter at 70lb and make final decision there. I've been told by some the hunter at 70lb feels the same as a pulse at 62lb, however you and some others feel the pulse wins the draw cycle award this year, I guess I will see, just on the fence on this one. I've always been under the impression the higher the brace the more forgiving the bow is to shooter imperfections, however it seems the pulse might change this way of thinking. Just out of curiosity, what about thee pulse draw cycle did you feel was better than the hunter? When I shot that 60lb hunter it was very easy, smooth, and had no hump. Just wondering what the pulse feels like according to this. Thanks

The Pulse felt the best to me on the draw. I would not be concerned with accuracy out to your 40-45 yard limit. It is a great shooting bow.
