Thread: No holds barred on new bows

Well........JMO.....i don't shoot at any archery ranges, nor 3-d shoots. I am strickly a hunter. I enjoy shooting the longer ata bows, but i don't like them for hunting especially in a tree, or a ground blind. I had a Monster 6 last year, and it was a nightmare luggin around, and treestand hunting. I was having to cut more cover limbs just so i could get it back in the clear. I will be testing these bows in our shop, and the Hunter is lookin real good for my style of hunting. I am also very interested in the Pulse! I just gotta have a Pulse in Ninja Black.........that thing is awesome lookin! The Pure is definately gonna be a shootin machine, but it will not be for me!

    Default No holds?

    Hunter:
Looks and sounds great for a short hunting bow. Too short for me. I'll pass.
    Pulse:
I'd prefer to see this with 1 or 2 more inches in ata. I would like to shoot one though.
    Pure:
I have absolutely nothing bad to say. I'll be looking closely at one. It would be between a Pure and a Tour for me. If I can swing it, I'd get one of each.
    Tour:
What I'll probably end up with. I like the 38 ata and an easier draw than an XLR. Can't wait to see the rest of the specs and pictures later this week.

I'm all for an easier draw. Speed is nice, but not a paramount issue for me. I may (or not) end up with a speed bow sometime in the future if it didn't have a horrendous draw. The Pure looks the most interesting I'd have to say. The 36" ata seems perfect to me for an all - in - one bow.

I have no problem with a 6'' BH. I currently have a Judge but I feel its not the shooter my GT 500 is and I have shot it regularly trying to make a decision on keeping it or not ...I think it will be not.

Somehow unfortunately in EOs quest to make a bow for everybody they didn't make one that works for me.

I have my eye on a Pure. I need a 32" DL, but Pete said you get get another 1/2" out of it if needed by twisting cable and/or stops. I will also keep my eye on what KS comes out with. I had an XLR 2 years ago and really liked it. I am strictly a hunter too.

Honestly, I was hoping for a 33-34 inch, 7 bh, Z cammed bow (Hunter like smoothness) with, say, a 325ish IBO. The Hunter's just a tad to short ATA for me.

Pulse look B.A. and I like the specs except the brace height. Don't know if I'd be able to handle a 70lbr. like I can with the Z.

Pure, a little long for my liking, but I love all the other specs. Wondering if it really is as smooth as my Z. Maybe it'd make me a better shooter with the ATA.
Probably the earliest flyswatters were nothing more than some sort of striking surface attached to the end of a long stick.

Chappy and L-Train basically summed it up for me. The only real thing I can say about the lineup that I keep hearing that does peak my interest is how much better of a draw this lineup has.

The Hunter - A little shorter than the current Z, a touch faster, smoother yet don't know if there will be enough of a performance over my 09 w/ Rev's to justify a new bow, especially since I shoot the best with bows in the 32-33" ATA range.

The Pulse - Being a 28 1/4" draw despite being 6'3 is a load of crud, so shorter brace height bows do not bother me as much. The Pulse has the closest to specs of any of the bows that I would want, except I wish you could have taken a 1/2" off the ATA and added it to the brace height.

The Pure - I had a 101st airborne before I ever bought my first Elite and I felt it was too long for me. It shot great, but was way to big for my liking and this is what kills it for the Pure for me.

The Tour - I do not have a target bow as I do most of my shooting either in the woods or in my back yard. Very seldom do I hit a 3D course (I think I have twice since I owned any Elite) and I have never even shot a spots or indoor round... But eventually I would like to get more into 3D when the money allows and a Orange riser, Carbon fiber limbs, Chrome'd pockets & cams bow would be sweet... So a target bow for me is out.

Not to try to sound like a hater, but astetically for me, the only bow that looks attractive to me is the Pulse. For whatever reason, the new cams on the Hunter remind me of a Bowtech SWAT.

I'm just wondering which way they are going to go next year? Speed is about the only other option!
