    Default GT500 Tuning Questions?

I threw some 29.5" mods on the GT500 today and took equal twists out of each cable and put two back in the string. I had done this to try to get my DL right with the shorter mods. Now that I have the 29.5" mods on there I needed to go back to factory spec, more or less.

Funny thing is it went from punching perfect bullet holes with the nock set dead nuts level to needing a little height on the nock to tune. I also had to bump the rest out just every so slightly to get rid of a right tear. It is now set at 15/16's.

I don't have a draw board but I had a bud look at the dots and they are very, very close if not perfect. Stops are good too. Why did the mod change affect the tune like this? Do most of y'all with drop aways set them up nock high or level?

I do set up with a slight high bubble towards the nock point with "my" bows. but through the berger holes or just slightly high on them

as far as moving the nock point, re-check it after several shots and see if the twists in the string have settled back under all the servings. (the servings hold the twist rate that was there before the serving was put on but after shooting or tension will settle back to the rate the unserved portion of the string is at.)

    IMHO

I don't know what the difference was wassaw, it bullet holed with a slight nock high with the #2 mods, while the #3 was dead nuts level? Maybe a slight machining difference? No biggie, I got her back dialed in and torched a big doe with her last night so I don't reckon I can fuss much, huh?

You changed draw length so in return you are changing your spine as well due to the gain or loss in speed. So if you are borderline on your spine being correct this might have impacted it slightly. Nice shooting by the way congrats

Draw length may have changed by an 1/8" or so. I had the stops all the way out with the shorter mods, I put on the larger mods and moved the stops in a little to lose some let off. Overall DL changed very little. I also would have figured that this would show up as a weak spine if anything, to the contrary it showed as a stiff reaction? It's all good, the bow is shooting fine, just had me stumped a little.

    P.S. Thanks!

I went from 30 to 29 mods. I had to retune bow as well. I think its just part of the game. Everytime you change something it could change the way the arrow comes off that rest. From looks of pics looks like you got it figured out though. Congrats.
