I've never fished for Pike. I've seen some amazing footage though. Looks fun as :censored2:!!!!!

The only smallies Ive caught were while fishin pike or walleye. Ive heard they are pound for pound the fightinest fish. And I believe it.

That is no joke. A 3 pound smallmouth often fights like a 5 pound largemouth. They are so aggresive and usually put on a heckuva aerial display when hooked.

I have some funny lookin crawdad flies I tied for smalls. Supposed to be a bunch in the yampa river up by craig, pike too. I need to find someone with a float boat.

Caught about 15 fish this morning.....no biguns. Still a great morning, 52 degrees with a light fog.

Seriously, I have been having a hard time. I was going to leave early yesterday to do some more scouting too but I am trying to behave because come next week I know I will be disappearing early often.

I cant wait, I have to start my fall ritual of "late coming in" and "early leaving" now. There's only a small window to hammer these fish and once bow season starts I know I wont chase them as hard. The lake record smallmouth awaits!
